Summary of Application Experience
Applying felt like going through hoops- especially the second time around. This time I used my undergrad pre-med committee to support my application. I also used the time between re-applying to get a MS in Biomedical Sciences. The program at Barry University in Miami, Florida is great because I took all the first year med school classes (I also enjoyed the beach and the weather!!!) I did not get my first interview until March. I even considered going DO or heading out to the Carribean because people suggested it. But deep down in my heart I wanted to stay in the country and be an MD. If I didn't get in this time, I was going to get an MPH and reapply. My advice to everyone is to keep pursuing your dream with everything you got. No one can make it come true. At when everyone calls you Dr. ---, it won't matter how long it took you to get here because you're here!
