  • Brief Profile: Will be applying in May 2014 to TMDSAS and June 2014 to AMCAS & AACOMAS, with hopes of entering medical school in 2015. I will be applying very broadly to as many MD and DO programs as I can (within reason & based on my stats/OOS chances) due to being from California and my horrific undergraduate GPA.

    Undergraduate cGPA: around a 3.2

    Re-took one class at a time as a DIY post-bacc while working full-time, then enrolled in a formal post-baccalaureate program.

    Stats as of 4/2013, including post-bacc work:

    AACOMAS cGPA - around a 3.5
    AACOMAS sGPA - around a 3.45

    AMCAS cGPA - around a 3.0
    AMCAS BCPM - around a 3.1

    Will take the MCAT in January 2014. Worried about finding a seat in California due to all the registration issues people seem to have, so I'm preparing for the worst but hoping it doesn't come down to traveling out of state. I am still considering my options in terms of MCAT prep books (I have a growing list of books and resources thanks to SDN), but I do know I will be taking a formal MCAT prep course (undecided between TBR and TPR).
