  • Brief Profile: I posted my personal statement and activities to give applicants with my dilemma (low uGPA) an idea of how I overcame that hurdle.

The application process is long and difficult, so I encourage you to seek help and advice from a credible source (e.g., your undergrad\'s pre-health advising office) and to start early.

    Update 9/9/2011
Application cycle has been quiet so far. All my applications are complete and under review. The most difficult part is being patient.

    Update 1/31/2012
So far I have only received two interviews. I was obviously hoping for more. Most of the schools will make a decision one way or the other by the end of February. I\'m hoping I get at least one more interview this cycle.

    Update 2/23/2012
Two more interview invites came my way in February. There was a good 5 month gap since my last II, but I am very grateful to have this chance.

Hopefully the interviews go well and hopefully I get good news from one of these schools.

    Update 4/13/2012
Good news, everybody: I\'m going to be a doctor. This is mainly a huge relief and a validation of the work I have put in over the last few years after a mediocre undergrad performance.

Also, I wasn\'t expecting to receive any interview invites past February, but I received three more. I highly doubt I\'ll get any more as most schools have completed interviews. I\'m sure I\'ll hear from all the other schools I\'ve interviewed at soon, but I am more than content at the moment to have an assured acceptance.

    Update 4/20/2012

I never thought I\'d ever have this problem: I got into another school and now I have to choose!

I\'m so grateful that I got in anywhere, so I\'m going to relish this feeling for a couple of weeks and make a decision closer to May 15.

    Update 5/7/2012

I went to UC Irvine\'s second look and I\'m sold. I\'m going to become an anteater.
