2/22: email informing me they have withdrawn my app because I never responded to their interview invitation on Sept 8. I never got that email. Oh well. 2/23: emailed back explaining the misunderstanding. They were very nice and offered to set up a late interview day. I declined since it's improbable, at this point, I would choose Yale over a scholarship to WashU.

Amazing how a world-class medical center was built in the middle of a corn field. The medical school seems high yield: attracts lots of students from state schools, lower stats, regional bias and produces an elite match list four years later.

Most disappointing day.
The Pritzker 'fit' seems like yield protection. They predicted I probably wouldn't end up there, potentially for several reasons, and they were right. I took the secondary pretty seriously, which probably helped me get the interview. But at the interview, I got questions like whether I really saw myself in the midwest, whether I might choose Pritzker over HMS. That didn't go over well.

Worst student interview.
1) The PSTP frequently accepts students who are put in the MD waitlist, and the PSTP acceptance gets them an MD admit. 2) A huge portion of the class got in off the waitlist. 3) The vast majority of interviewees are waitlisted. 3) Having research background, I was encouraged to apply to PSTP in order to show interest and get off waitlist (mail, 12/16). Applicants beware.

First interview. Stressful day before: my flight was canceled due to weather, I had it rescheduled for the next morning, I go home and sleep very little, go back to the airport to find that my flight was rescheduled for Dec 30 instead of Sep 30, I argue a ton, get rescheduled for a two-leg flight that arrives in Durham 30 mins before the start of the interview day. But I get there on time, hopped up on adrenaline, owned some MMIs later.
