As far as extracurriculars go...
I was a division one soccer player for two seasons before transferring because of injuries, I represented my school at the CASE Apple Prevention at the University of Virginia (working to prevent alcohol and substance abuse on college campuses), was selected to be a part of the alternative spring break team of my university where our team helped to restore a historic house in Biloxi, MS that was destroyed by hurricane Katrina. I also worked for three months in Summer of '09 as an activity assistant at an adult day care practice, interacting with participants by entertaining with activities and crafts, while helping with transportation and feeding elders with a variety of medical conditions such as Alzheimer's, strokes, mental disabilities, blindness, and dementia. Also worked here during the Winter break of '09-'10 doing the same job. I am now the webmaster for the Colleges Against Cancer chapter at my new university and volunteer time into designing and maintaining a new website for this volunteer program.

I plan to join the AED (Alpha Epsilon Delta premedical society) at my new university, gain a volunteer position at my local hospital, and shadow a variety of physicians. Hoping to get at least 100 volunteer hours, and shadow as many different physicians as possible to get an in-depth look a the variety of specialties in the medical field and the life of a physician and surgeon.
