Summary of Application Experience
what a nerve wracking experience. I'm just glad I got in somewhere.
Update: I've decided on Wayne State. I'm very interested in clinical medicine and Wayne is strong in that regard. Still hoping to get off the WL at either Jefferson or NYU!
Update 2: I got off the NYU waitlist June 17th! Miracles do happen !(just look at the 1984 olympic hockey victory and my acceptance to NYU for proof)
About the application process: I laughed, I cried, I lost 20 pounds. This experience was absolutely nerve wracking. I dont wihs it upon anyone. I am on a gap year and I live in Japan, so I applied and actually flew back to the US 3 seperate times for my 6 interviews, only to be rejected by some schools and waitlisted by others. Staying up until 12 am to call a school on a worknight only to get rejected was brutal. I understand that the shcools have to make a choice but it all seems arbitrary on how they do that.
Remember to relax at interviews. All of the ones I had were very chill and I was only asked one ethical question 'Is medicine a right or a privilege?' And that was at Drexel of all places! If you stress too much you will freak out and screw up the interview. As long as you relax and speak honestly I think that it will all work out in the end! Feel free to ask any questions and I wil reply asap.
